Baked Honey Garlic Salmon with Broccoli

This baked honey garlic salmon with broccoli is a weeknight hero: tender salmon fillets coated in a glossy, sweet-and-savory glaze, roasted alongside crisp-tender broccoli on a single sheet pan. The glaze comes together in minutes with pantry staples like honey, soy sauce, garlic, and a touch of vinegar for balance.

The method is simple: whisk the glaze, brush it over the salmon, and roast everything at high heat until the fish flakes easily and the broccoli edges caramelize. It's a hands-off dinner that feels special enough for guests but easy enough for a busy Tuesday.

Ingredients

  • 4 6-oz salmon fillets, skin on
  • 4 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, for garnish
  • 2 tablespoons sliced green onions, for garnish

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease with cooking spray.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, rice vinegar, sesame oil, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using) until well combined.
  3. Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper. Place salmon on one side of the prepared baking sheet.
  4. In a medium bowl, toss broccoli florets with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Spread them in a single layer on the other side of the baking sheet.
  5. Brush each salmon fillet generously with the honey garlic glaze, reserving about 1 tablespoon for later. Roast for 12-15 minutes, until salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork, and broccoli is tender with slightly charred edges.
  6. Remove from oven and brush salmon with the reserved glaze. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions. Serve immediately.

Tips for Success

For the best texture, pat the salmon dry before glazing and avoid overbaking—pull it from the oven as soon as the thickest part flakes with a fork. If your broccoli florets are large, cut them uniformly so they cook evenly.

Make it a meal: serve over steamed rice, quinoa, or cauliflower rice to soak up the extra glaze. For a spicier kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the glaze.
