Strawberry Basil Lime Agua Fresca

There's nothing like a cold, fruity drink on a hot day, and this Strawberry Basil Lime Agua Fresca is my new obsession. It's like summer in a glass – sweet strawberries, fragrant basil, and a punch of lime, all blended with water for a light and hydrating sip. I love making a big pitcher for backyard BBQs or just to keep in the fridge for a refreshing pick-me-up.

What makes this agua fresca special is the combination of ripe strawberries and fresh basil. The basil adds a subtle herbal note that pairs beautifully with the sweet-tart strawberries and zesty lime. It's naturally sweetened with a touch of agave or honey, so you can control the sweetness. Plus, it's incredibly easy to make – just blend, strain, and chill. Perfect for detoxing? Well, it's hydrating and packed with vitamin C, so you can feel good about sipping it all day long.

  5. Serve over ice, garnished with lime and strawberry slices if desired.

Tips for the Perfect Agua Fresca

Use the ripest, sweetest strawberries you can find. If they're not super sweet, you might need to add a bit more sweetener. Also, don't skip the straining step – it gives you that smooth, clean texture. If you prefer a bit of texture, you can leave some of the pulp in.

Feel free to play with the herbs – mint or cilantro would also be delicious. For a fizzy version, top it off with sparkling water. And if you want to make it a cocktail, add a splash of vodka or rum. Just remember to taste and adjust sweetness before serving.
