Ingredients

Immunity Shot Ingredients
  • 1 cup fresh ginger peeled and roughly chopped
  • 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon ground turmeric
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon honey optional, for sweetness
  • 1/2 cup filtered water

Method

  1. Peel and roughly chop the fresh ginger. Squeeze fresh lemon juice.
  2. Combine the chopped ginger, lemon juice, ground turmeric, cayenne pepper, honey (if using), and filtered water in a high-speed blender.
  3. Blend on high speed until the mixture is as smooth as possible, about 1-2 minutes.
  4. Place a fine-mesh sieve or a nut milk bag over a bowl or pitcher. Pour the blended mixture through the sieve/bag to separate the liquid from the pulp. Press down on the pulp to extract as much liquid as possible.
  5. Pour the strained ginger shots into small shot glasses or individual sealed bottles. Serve immediately or store in the refrigerator.

Notes

For an extra kick, you can add a pinch of black pepper to enhance turmeric absorption. If you don't have a high-speed blender, you can grate the ginger finely before blending. These shots are best consumed fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
