Savory Cheddar & Jalapeño Buttermilk Biscuits

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 2 jalapeños, finely chopped

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Cut the cold butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the buttermilk until just combined, then gently fold in the cheddar and jalapeños.
  5. Turn the dough onto a floured surface, pat it to about 1-inch thickness, and cut out biscuits using a round cutter.
  6. Place the biscuits on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 15-18 minutes or until golden brown.
