Ingredients

  • 4 fillets salmon fillets 6 oz each, skin-on or skinless
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce low sodium preferred
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh ginger grated
  • 1 tablespoon green onions sliced for garnish
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds for garnish

Method

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger until well combined. Set aside.
  2. Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels. This helps achieve a better sear and allows the glaze to adhere properly.
  3. Brush each salmon fillet generously with the soy glaze mixture, reserving about half for basting during cooking.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 3 minutes. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
  5. Place salmon fillets in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving space between each piece. Cook for 8 minutes.
  6. Open the air fryer and brush salmon with remaining glaze. Continue cooking for 3-4 more minutes until salmon reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit and flakes easily with a fork.
  7. Remove salmon from air fryer and let rest for 2 minutes. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

For best results, choose salmon fillets of equal thickness so they cook evenly. The glaze can be made up to 3 days ahead and stored in the refrigerator. If your salmon fillets are thicker than 1 inch, add 2-3 additional minutes to the cooking time.
