Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets 6 ounces each, skin-on or skinless
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice fresh
  • 1 lemon cut into wedges for serving

Method

  1. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. This helps achieve a better sear and prevents excess moisture in the air fryer.
  2. Brush both sides of each salmon fillet with olive oil. In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and dried dill. Sprinkle the seasoning mixture evenly over both sides of the salmon.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 3 minutes. This ensures even cooking from the start.
  4. Place the salmon fillets in the air fryer basket in a single layer, skin-side down if using skin-on fillets. Make sure they are not touching or overlapping for best air circulation.
  5. Cook the salmon at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 8-10 minutes, depending on thickness. The salmon is done when it reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit and flakes easily with a fork.
  6. Remove the salmon from the air fryer and immediately drizzle with fresh lemon juice. Let rest for 2 minutes before serving.
  7. Transfer the salmon fillets to serving plates and garnish with lemon wedges. Serve immediately while hot and enjoy.

Notes

For best results, choose salmon fillets that are similar in thickness so they cook evenly. Don't overcook the salmon - it should be slightly translucent in the center for maximum juiciness. If your fillets are thicker than 1 inch, add 2-3 minutes to the cooking time.
